Recently I had the pleasure of serving on an SAIS accreditation team with four incredibly dynamic and passionate educators. Although we’ve since parted ways and returned to our own schools across the Southeast, we’ve committed to sharing resources (articles, books, videos, blogs, etc) with each other monthly.
First up: this mini documentary called Future Learning.
It features a few educational innovators, one of whom (Dr. Sugata Mitra) suggests that the curriculum in the future might need to contain three non-negotiables:
- Reading comprehension
- Information search and retrieval skills
- How to believe
Can a curriculum really be distilled into those three buckets? If yes, how might that inform how we redesign school?
